To be perfect remove the grounded terminal first usually it is the negative one unless you are working on a rare forklift or something. Black wires are for negative and red wires are for the positive terminal. Let the other clamp rest somewhere that is NOT metal so theres no ground. Herein do you connect the positive or negative first when jumping a car.
